Rocket Mill 2.50 Single

Rocket Mill 2.50 Single
Product Information

The Rocket Mill is an innovation from A TEC for processing alternative fuels that combines drying, comminution, and homogenization in a single step. Even composite materials such as wind turbine blades made of GRP or CFRP can be processed with it. The properties mentioned above are also essential and important parameters for subsequent process steps in biomass processing.

A key advantage of the A TEC Rocket Mill is that the raw material need only be pre-crushed and stripped of heavy contaminants such as metals. During the crushing process in the A TEC Rocket Mill, any remaining heavy materials—such as metals, stones, and other contaminants—are further separated from the final product. This offers the advantage of improving fuel quality by increasing the calorific value of the materials ground for fuel production. When used for recycling purposes, the separation of different materials enables more effective downstream material separation.

Thanks to the special comminution technology (impact comminution), the absolute residual moisture is reduced to levels as low as 10% compared to the feedstock. To achieve an even lower moisture content, an additional drying step can be performed using process exhaust gases or process waste heat.
Impact crushing increases the specific surface area of the final product, which in turn significantly improves the ignition and burn-out properties of waste-derived fuels in particular.

Particularly in the production of alternative fuels, the end product of this comminution process is a high-quality alternative fuel that can achieve significantly higher substitution rates.

A TEC Rocket Mill 2.00 Single Test Unit

The A TEC Rocket Mill 2.00 Single is in operation as a pilot plant with a drive power of 315 kW. The plant is equipped with a feeding system tailored to the mill for raw and feed materials, as well as a separate dust collection system. What makes this pilot plant unique is that large quantities of feedstock can be conveyed directly from a bulk cargo trailer into the mill, and the finished product can then be returned to a bulk cargo trailer. The customer has the option of feeding their own material into the pilot plant and transporting the final product back to their truck.
