Immersion tubes have a significant impact on a cyclone’s separation efficiency. In modern preheaters, cyclones with immersion tubes have become standard. In particular, the design of the dip tubes in the lower stages requires expertise and practical experience. This is the only way to achieve anoptimal balance between low pressure drop and separation efficiency. Practical experience is also a valuable tool for applying CFD analysis in parallel.
