Lownox Calciner Functional Description:
Staged fuel, flour, and combustion air feed are intended to prevent the thermal formation of NOx in the calciner and to reduce any NOx that has been formed through the following chemical reaction:
2NO + 2CO = 2CO2 + N2

For existing calcination systems using high-quality fuels: Calciner fuel feed at two points and at the furnace inlet. Staged tertiary air supply and addition of calciner meal. The results are approximately600–800 mg/Nm³ at the stack.
