A TEC was one of the first technology suppliers to develop and build calcinators capable of handling up to 100% solid alternative fuels and has been a pioneer in this field for more than 20 years. Thanks to sophisticated combustion control and flow design, optimal results are achieved across a wide range of fuels with the lowest possible emissions, whether retrofitting existing calcinators or constructing new ones. All calcinators are also equipped with the A TEC Post Combustion Chamber to ensure maximum efficiency while minimizing the calcinators’ footprint. As a result, a comparatively small calcinator can deliver significantly better fuel combustion than comparable systems.
For fuels that are particularly difficult to burn—such as those with large particle sizes or high moisture content—A TEC has developed a combustion chamber consisting of a rotary kiln connected to the calciner. In this combustion chamber, coarse-grained fuel can burn out in a matter of minutes, delivering energy directly to the calciner.
For existing calcination systems using high-quality fuels: Calciner fuel feed at two points and at the furnace inlet. Staged tertiary air supply and addition of calciner meal. The results are approximately600–800 mg/Nm³ at the stack.
